I really like this flat iron, it only takes one swipe to get my hair straight. The claim of controlling frizz can be trusted because believe me when water and my hair mix, it ain't a pretty thing. Using this flat iron has really cut down on the frequency and number of times I need to use it on my hair after a wash. OK, the but...part. The controls are located right where the user needs to grip it so I am constantly changing the temperature on accident, which is annoying. If you move your hands further down, the grip isn't strong enough. Higher and you get burnt. Ouch!! Perhaps the manufacturer will take note and remedy this problem. Other than that (which was enough to make me send it back once before, and changing my mind because it worked so well) I loved it. Hope this helps! ~Sha

I am very pleased with this item. My hair frizzes and curls as the slightest bit of humidity, and finally I don't have to worry about that so much. This flat iron hasn't been fail-proof: on especially humid days inside the school where I taught, my hair didn't look as straight or smooth. On the whole, however, I do not regret this purchase at all. It glides through my hair easily and has definitely made a difference in how my hair looks throughout the day. I would buy it again for the price it is, but I am also interested in finding an affordable chi down the road to see if that produces the same (or better) results and also cuts down on the time I spend straightening my hair. My only complaints are minor: (1) every once in a while I accidentally adjust the heat while straightening, but this is infrequent, and it beeps to let me know I've changed the temp so I just quickly readjust it; (2) the iron has started to fade/discolor on the bottom. I'm not sure why this is and it hasn't affected performance any, but it is surprising since the iron is only a few months old.

One other thing worth mentioning is that I purchased item along with the HSI flat iron so I could compare them both, and I was much happier with this iron. It was more comfortable to grip and produced longer lasting results. I felt that the HSI iron took much too long to use because of how uncomfortable it was to grip and because of how many times I had to go over the same section of hair to get it straight.

I recently lost my Sedu Revolution at a hotel, and I did not want to spend the $$ to replace it so I picked up this one at Walmart (it's cheaper on Amazon) because I needed something fast. I was surprised at how well it works - it heats up faster than my old, and gets to that 430 that I need for my very thick wavy hair. Only one pass over each section of hair is needed, just like my Sedu. And it really does seal the cuticle and leave it shiny and smooth. I'm so glad I gave this one a try before spending the big bucks on an expensive version.
